Digital Footprint PSA
This video that I submitted for my Related Work is a PSA. This PSA was about your digital footprint. In it Steven and I explain that your digital footprint is always around and will follow you anywhere. We do this by giving a scenario about Steven posting a picture of him underage drinking on the internet. What happens because of this you ask? Well in the future he cannot get a job as his digital footprint is not professional.
In the video we also explain how to improve your digital footprint. To do this you can improve what you post. Do not post anything you may regret later, like anything illegal. From making this video I learned a lot. I learned to make sure that anything I post on the internet is safe and okay. Something that I learned was that it is incredibly easy to find yourself on the internet. If you look yourself up you might find yourself.
In all I, and hopefully anyone who watched/watches it, realizes that their digital footprint is very important. Future employers will probably check it, look your name up, etc. So if you do not have a good digital footprint you might wanna see what you can do about that to maybe fix it.
Scorekeeper
This assignment is the scorekeeper assignment. It has gone through many different changes since the beginning of learning React Native. I have learned many different things in React since I started. This all allows me to create mobile apps and websites. I have learned how to make buttons, different pages, images, and much more in React and they all come together in this assignment.
First I made the layout. This app is supposed to track the score, wins, losses, and ties of each team in a match. I created it so the teams names could be changed by the user using states. I also made it so when a button is clicked with the team’s name on it then that team gets one point. Afterward I made it so that when the score is submitted then depending on the scores it adds a win, loss, or tie and displays it on a separate page.
After I did all of this I used objects to make sure that the date and scores would be added to a table once submitted. This was a bit difficult as objects can be confusing but I got it done. In all this assignment and many others helped with my knowledge in React and I can now create mobile apps that can be used by anyone.

Pac-man & Knockoffs Writing Assignment
This piece was a writing assignment that was about pac-man, and its knockoffs from when it was one of the most popular games out. This assignment had us watch a fairly lengthy video on the games history and what games emerged after its release. The writing had us talk about what each of the knockoffs had to compete with to make sure their game was legal and unique compared to pacman.
I learned about what game creators need to look for when creating a parody game or game very similar to other games. The thing is now we have distinct rules and laws for these things, while back then video games were brand new and did not really know how to deal with these things.
Nothing particularly was very difficult about this assignment. It was very informative and helped me understand a lot of what goes into these types of things. It gave me more experience on how to make a game and how to deal with the legal side.
These were the directions:

This was the Essay:
Pac-Man had many knockoffs, one of the most popular ones being “K.C. Munchkin.” This knockoff did take the general idea of a maze game from Pac-Man, but it tries new things to spice up the gameplay. This would include invisible mazes, moving dots, and a maze editor. This game also had a distinctly different art style than Pac-Man, with more expressive and cute characters. Pac-Man for the Atari was nothing short of disappointing. This is because of its terrible graphics, and poor gameplay. Comparing it to K.C. Munchkin makes it seem like Atari’s Pac-Man was the knockoff all along. In general they both took very different paths on how to create levels, add challenges, and create loveable characters.
Making a Pac-Man style game is pretty simple on the surface, but there is a lot that goes into it, especially if you want to make it like your own that does not infringe on any form of copyright laws. For example, making a unique art style is the first step to creating this game. Making it look distinct and original will already nearly clear you of any form of copyright infringement. A good art style would be something simple, yet cute or loveable, that players of all ages can enjoy to look at. Next up is creating unique gameplay that differentiates your game from everything else on the market. This may include adding challenges or challenge levels that speed up the enemies, add dangerous traps in the maze that you need to avoid, or even add more enemies to create more of a challenge. Afterwards, a good level will make or break the game. If the level structure is too boring, too easy, or too hard, then it will disencourage players from playing the game. To create enjoyable levels they need to be randomized for each level, maybe with moving parts or teleporters to different parts of the maze, all this seems very similar to Pac-Man though. So to make it different, maybe allow there to be more power ups in the maze that give players special abilities like swapping places with an enemy or instantly collecting half of the dots.
Finally we need to tackle the marketing department. Here we need to steer clear of even mentioning Pac-Man or any other competitors. Doing this will easily clear any sort of copyright issues. You also want to make sure that any art made for the game or descriptions are not blatant copies of Pac-Man or any of their competitors as that can also infringe on certain copyright laws.
Business Integrated Project:
This assignment is an integrated project that had me research and learn a lot about how businesses work and what is important to them and the customers. I learned many different things like how to get funding, how to support the environment, the different types of contracts, the kinds of ethics that are required for such businesses, and much more.
This assignment was not that difficult, but still taught me a lot. It only took a few days and it let me see the many different sides to making a business run. You can’t just declare that you started a business and expect things to happen for you. There is a lot of planning, money, and community involved with creating a company.
Prior to this assignment we did another assignment that was about the work that goes into making a business. This was stuff like making a plan for your business, what your motto would be, what positions you would need to hire, and so on. This assignment paired with the previous both taught me a lot about becoming a business owner.
